What you need when you collect

What you need :-

Proof of Residence

At the start of rental, the Customer must provide proof of their address, as stated on their driving licence. Acceptable proof includes recent utility bills and bank statements, TV licence council tax bill (ext). If the Customers address is different to that on their licence, then 2 items of proof of current address must also be presented. If customer is renting a van to move proof of the new address must be supplied. Please ask for full details of acceptable proof.

The Company must see the above paperwork on the day of hire, before a rental vehicle can be released. This is applicable to every booking.

Driving Licence / Identification

Customers must have held a full driving licence for a minimum of 12 months (24 months if under 23) The Company normally accepts endorsements up to 6 points on minor traffic offences such as speeding. This licence must be presented on the day of hire. If the Customer has a new photo card licence, the paper counterpart will also need to be presented. In the event that a licence is not presentable, it is possible for the Company to call DVLA within their working hours to confirm details. A £5 charge will be payable at the time of calling to cover charges made by DVLA. Where an 'old style' licence is presented then a form of photographic identification (e.g. passport ) will be required. An international driving licence issued outside of the UK is required for any driver whose licence is of non-roman alphabet (e.g. Japanese, Arabic or Greek alphabet )

The new UK licences are made up of two parts, the counterpart and ID card. Both parts much be produced at time of rental.

European Union Licences are valid in the UK, up to expiry date.

Foreign Licences are valid for up to 12 months from the date of entry into the UK. After that period a British Licence Must be applied for.

International Driving Permits are valid for 12 months.

International Driving Permits Issued in the UK are not valid.

Any endorsements, motoring offences or restrictions (medical or otherwise) should be declared at the time of reservation as this may affect your booking.

Payment

Full payment must be made at Avon autosales Car and Van Rental location in Sterling. Avon autosales Car and Van Rental except payment by Credit , Visa Debit or American Express. We reserve the right to take payment of the rental cost at the time of booking.

A credit card/debit card will be required at the start of all rentals for security purposes. A preauthorization will be made against the card for your deposit of £250.00 so you will need to have sufficient funds available or rental will be refused. The rental can be paid for in cash but you will need to have a valid credit card for the deposit.

A photograph of the driver will also be taken at the time of rental.

Cancellations / No Shows

Avon autosales Car and Van Rental reserves the right to charge 100% of the reservation as a cancellation fee for late cancellations or no shows. Late cancellations are within 72 hours of the hire start time agreed at the time of the reservation. Avon autosales Car and Van Rental reserve the right to increase the cancellation time period at the time of the reservation with notice. Bank Holidays (England), Christmas and Easter rentals have a minimum 2 week cancelation period. Any cancellations within 1 week of the agreed rental start time (at the time of the reservation) will be charged a cancellation charge.
